Richardson Bay Morning

Quiet morning

Yellow Kayak

Bay sparkling with cloud reflections.

Seals on the breakwater

Watching as I pass.

One follows

Close behind my wake.

I slow

And his beady eyes

And whiskered face

Pop up beside me.

I say hello.

For half an hour

We frolic,

Swimming, paddling,

Conversing.

Kayaking in Richardson Bay is always relaxing and beautiful. The light, the sky, and the water are constantly changing. There are always ducks, all kinds of sea birds, and seals.

Go out the door onto the deck. Walk onto the float. Watch out, it may be a little tippy. Grab a paddle and a life jacket. Hop (carefully) in a yellow kayak, untie, and off you go. As you near the end of the channel you see Mt. Tam to the North, and then, San Francisco to the South. You are in lovely Richardson Bay. Watch out for boats bigger than you. Say hello to the seals and all the sea birds. Remember to get home before the tide goes all the way out!
