 Houseboat from Kayak |
|
Park your car in the parking lot. Then, to get to my "floating home", walk down the dock, past container gardens that bloom all year long. Spring is probably the most lush. Gardening seems to be a favorite pass time for owners all up and down the dock. Especially in early Spring you will see people busily sprucing up their old plants and transplanting flowers of all sorts. There are 3 pictures below taken on the dock in front of my house.

Sit on the deck or the float and watch the tide come in, and go back out. Most of the day the house is surrounded by water. There are usually some ducks and coots swimming about. When the tide gets high, the house begins to float. On many days, for about an hour or two, the tide is low enough for the mud bottom to be uncovered. Often this is the best time for viewing egrets and herons. However, it's not a good time to try to return from Kayaking!
